Split players were leading from the first to the last minute on the derby, and Primorci, thanks to the goalkeeper Marko Prcać, in the game for a favorable result until the end.

But after the last siren, the members of the Croatian team had won the tournament a day before the finals. The University of Primorska team awaits a duel on Saturday at 9 pm with the University of Lyon for second place.

The Primorska team gathered quickly and came close to the goal three times (1: 2, 2: 3, 3: 4), but with an effective Slavko Ćalić they scored in the first quarter three times and had the most credit for the leadership to 5: 3.

The Croatian team also took the initiative in the second quarter and in the first three minutes all the goals were stopped by goal keeper Marko Prcać. But the Primorska team was not successful enough in the attack to be able to approach their opponents. Split finally managed to defeat Prcać and with Ćalić stepped ahead with 6: 3. EUSA Water Polo CUP, Day 2: The win of the host team overshaded by serious injury

The water polo players of the University of Primorska achieved another game on the second day of the European University Water Polo Cup after defeating the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University. Their success was unfortunately completely overshadowed by the severe damage of Macedonian water polo player Nikola Tomovski, which made the game prematurely over.

An unfortunate event took place in the third quarter, when Macedonians failed to take the left-hand attack. At that time Tomovski stopped completely, and his cries suggested that this was a serious injury. The players of both teams quickly swam to him and helped him out of the pool, but then it became clear that there was a severe knee injury. The Macedonian player was taken with an ambulance and the race ended prematurely with the result of 12:3 for University of Primorska.

In the remaining matches, the University of Split beat the University of Belgrade with 14:2, and the match between the University of Lyon and the University of Budapest ended without a winner (6: 6).

In the second quarter, the Primorska team ruled the pool

A duel between the University of Primorska and the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje started according to the wishes of the locals. Teams reached another goal by the end of the quarter, Nejc Potočnik scored for Primorska, and Tomceki came close to the goalkeeper, who surprised the home goalkeeper Marko Prcać right from the middle of the pool.

The head of the coastal team Blaž Ćeklić sent Mattia Sponza in the second quarter, which was paid off. The other goalkeeper "locked" his goal, and his teammates scored in the goal and scored 7:0 with 10:2. Macedonians broke the hike of the Primorska only in the last minute with the goal from Tomovski, and the result of the half-hour was put up by Potočnik.

In the third quarter, the Slovenian team scored 12 points, when Peter Brozović increased to 12:3 with his fourth goal, and then Tomovski was injured, which resulted in the game being interrupted for a long time, and eventually terminated too early.

"We are more of a quality than the Macedonians, which was eventually also known in the result. This time our first goalkeeper did not go at the start of the match, so I decided to change because of the rise of the amphibious. In such a competition, rotation of players is required, since we can not expect all players to be equally mood every day. Unfortunately, the race was prematurely finished due to the injury to Nikola Tomovski, to whom we extend our wishes of a quick recovery, " said the head of the home team Blaž Ćeklić.

Split with another win to the top

In addition to the University of Primorska, the University of Split also won the second competing day, which ranged from 14:2 to the University of Belgrade and climbed to the top.

Comments

Nikola Tomovski in Aleksandar Gjorgjevski (MKD)

Our first game was quite tough. We played well in the first part, but the French are physically better prepared. In the last quarter, the game stabilized, but, unfortunately, it was too late for repairs.

Koper is a beautiful city. Our team is amazed by the atmosphere, the town is very nice and clean. We like everything about the Cup and the organization team is great.

Aleksandar Njegovan

Firstly I would like to say that the OC is very friendly and capable, especially Marko Juretič, the OC president. Our first match was very heated, but we will not get pressed by those facts and bring our best game in the next matches.

The hosts started the match very well and Milen Jaćimović managed to shoot a goal in the first twenty seconds. But this was not confusing to the Serbian team, who equalized in the third minute and kept in contact with the Primorska, who, thanks to Vid Naglič, got a quarter with 3:2.

In the second quarter, the players of the University of Primorska had the initiative and twice led with two goals (4: 2, 5: 3), then Stefan Marković and Ognjen Šćepanović scored for Beograd and settled 5: 5. The home team responded to the pressure perfectly, and again 15 seconds before the end of the half-time, once again, Nejc Potočnik took advantage of a long goalkeepers goal and hit a cold-blooded goal for the result of a half-hour (6: 5).

The Primorska started the second half as it finished the first. He was again in the center of attention Potočnik, who increased to 7:5 after the raise from the right. But this did not stop the Belgrade team, who scored twice in less than a minute and again equalized, and the University of Primorska again found itself in critical moments, and with the goal of Rene Černeka, he ran 9:8 after three-quarters.

When the hosts team elevated their score in the four minutes before the endby 10:8, but their fighters showed their character, scored two consecutive goals and equalized seven minutes before the end of the game to 10:10. But their joy was short, as the locals made good use of the rest of the time and with a goal of Potočnik just second before the end, they celebrated with 11:10.

"I would like to congratulate my boys who have fought to the end. Although we leaded practically all the matche, it could end with the victory of the Serbian team, which again proved to be a difficult rival. For the next matches, I want players to keep my instructions exactly. "said the head of the coastal team Blaž Ćeklić.

High victories of Split and Lyon

At the first match of the day, the University of Split beat the Budapest University of Technology and Economics with a high 8: 4. The Croatian representative led from the beginning to the end. He got a quarter-final with 4: 2, at the half time he scored three goals (6: 3), which allowed him to watch the game quietly and convincingly win.

This card gives you access to medically necessary, state-provided healthcare during a temporary stay in Slovenia as member of the European State.

But remember that the EHIC is not an alternative to travel insurance. It does not cover any private healthcare or costs such as a return flight to your home country or lost/stolen property. That is the reason why it is also necessary to travel with an appropriate travel insurance.

Be aware that each country’s healthcare system is different. Services that cost nothing at your country might not be free in another country.
